
Studio Topologic is the personal studio of Kirthan Shekar. He is a spatial design-researcher with a background in architecture and urbanism focused on transformation of cities and territories through engaging with critical urban questions for just transitions. His interests lies in subjects of climate resilience, post-capitalism by critical thinking, political ecology and environmental humanities through cartography, design experiments and public engagement. He is currently a design researcher at Vereniging Deltametropool which is a think tank based in Rotterdam for spatial planning and design processes for the Netherlands and the Eurodelta. Besides, he is also an architect in India working on small projects with earth-based materials. His work include exploring the agency of design in territories with high socio-ecological and climatic vulnerability through spatial and institutional strategies and integrated research and education in architectural and territorial design.
He graduated cum-laude from Delft University of Technology in 2024 specialising in Urbanism and worked on a design research project in the Delta Futures Lab. Previously he was a designer-researcher at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements in Bangalore working on architectural design, research documentation and dissemination content for exploring different materials and building technologies.
